| Zawisza came up with an outstanding performance against title defending Lakeshore United. Both sides needed to win this match, yet both faced serious roster issues. Players that did make it to the game showed lots of ambition and created an entertaining spectacle. Rafal Piotrowski managed to score early and Zawisza had full control of the game from then on. Still before the break Orazio Valente increased the lead to 2-0 and Waldemar Dyczkowski made it 3-0 with a powerful shot.
After the break, Lakeshore United came out strong and got lucky early as Tomasz Tarczyluk reduced deficit to 1-3 capitalizing on Zawisza keeper mistake. Zawisza shook off this setback and the match evened up. Both teams continued to play an open game looking for an opportunity to score. Chances were produced at both ends but Lakeshore United keeper, Rafal Pindiur, was clearly a much busier man. As time went on, players invested more and more emotion into the game and sparks flew on a number of occasions. This extra energy worked only for Zawisza, however. Maciej Marciniak took all hopes away from Lakeshore United in the 62 minute by making it 4-1. Zawisza scored once again in the final minutes, when Massimo Mirabelli summed up his efforts with a goal of his own.
The 5-1 Zawisza win over Lakeshore United could certainly not have been predicted. If Lakeshore United had any hopes of defending their title, this game buried them deep. In spite of losing five goals, Jan Pindiur's team should still consider themselves very lucky Zawisza failed to register double digits. Two penalty shots should've been called against Lakeshore United for separate incidents, Rafal Pindiur has made incredible saves on at least three occasions, and Rafal Piotrowski missed the net on his best opportunity of the season.
